Elijah's Vow by Abbie Carlisle
(The Order of the Mist)
Jasmine
Tate, an Editor from New York, relaxes on her first vacation in years until a
tall, dark, handsome stranger throws her into a world of power and tantalising
passion. She realises that humans are not the only race in existence. Her life
shatters around her as their worlds collide and everything she’s ever believed
in is destroyed as her true identity is laid out before her.
Elijah,
The Order’s leader, has never known true love. Tormented by his past, he has
lived only to protect his race, but when he meets Jasmine his heart is
captivated by her beauty and he becomes obsessed with his possession and desire
for her.
As a war
begins between The Order and the Phoenix League, he must face an enemy that is
intent on destroying everything that matters to him, but can he protect the one
thing that has become his destiny?
As usual, Let us start our chat by asking
her some personal questions. I promise to be gentle with you. Well! I’ll try
and do my best.
Here’s Abbie,
Q: Welcome Abbie, I’m so glad you could be
us.
Thank you so much for having me. Its great to
be able to share with you my new release Elijah’s Vow.
Q: Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Are you married or do you have kids?
I
live in Kent, England and have been
happily married to an amazing man for the last 15 years. I have 4 fantastic children
and my family has been very supportive of my new career as a writer. I started
to write my first book in April 2014 and found that my initial idea grew into
an amazing world of its own. As I work full time, I now find that I have to
manage my time between work, writing and promoting my first book, which
sometimes can feel a little daunting but the journey has been exciting and very
rewarding. The support I’ve had from my family, twin sister and friends has
been amazing and I feel very privileged to have met other truly talented
Authors along the way.
Q: Did you find it hard to start writing?
The
idea for the series started with just a few characters, but quickly grew and I
now have around 14 further books that cover main characters from the series. I
didn’t find it too difficult to start writing as I’d planned the outline, but as
I’ve learnt, ideas grow and flourish. Now, I cannot believe how involved my
life has become in writing. I absolutely love creating the characters and their
lives.
Q: What one word would you use to describe
yourself?
That’s quite tricky as we all have lots of
different things that make us special and unique. If I had to choose one word
it would be ‘organised’. I need to be organised to fit everything into my life.
Being a wife, mother, employee and writer has every minute of my day occupied.
Q: A little bird told me that you enjoy
reading. Is it true?
I absolutely love reading. I can read up to
4 books a week. Once I start, I find it difficult to put a book down.
Sometimes, I’ve been so engrossed in the book I’m reading that its around 3am
before I get to bed. I find reading so relaxing and would spend more time
reading if I had the chance.
Q: What is your favorite Book and why?
My favourite book is ‘Justice’ by Laurren
Dohner. Her writing is brilliant and is full of exciting characters and
storylines that make you feel like you are there with the characters. They are emotional
and deal with conflicts where the characters have to overcome difficulties to
find true love. I like her writing style and the fact that her books can be
read as a series but also as stand alone books.
Q: Do you have pets? If so, how many?
I don’t have any pets at the moment. I used
to have a German Shepherd dog who I loved and I had a rabbit who was less than
friendly. Surprisingly, the rabbit would only let my husband anywhere near it.
Needless to say, we didn’t have the rabbit for long.
Q: How did you get started writing Paranormal
story?
After being introduced to various authors
such as Laurann Dohner, Lora Leigh and J R Ward, I felt that paranormal writing
was my favourite genre. When I decided to create an idea for my own novel, I
knew instantly that I wanted to create a paranormal race as the main characters
in my books.
Q: Your first book, Elijah’s Vow. Can you
tell us a bit about your main characters?
The main character is Elijah, he belongs to
a race call The Mist. He has lived for over 150 years and is strong, handsome
and has vibrant blue eyes, which is a characteristic of his race. He has
immense strength, speed and has the ability to Mist (disappear and reappear at
will). Elijah was held captive for years until he was rescued by another member
of The Mist, Jonah. Elijah built The Order of the Mist, a group of powerful
Mist males to protect others of their kind. All the males of The Order are tall
with vibrant coloured eyes, and each have unique powers that help Elijah to
protect others of their race. Elijah has never known who his parents were and
when he receives a call for help to protect a female, he has to find her and in
doing so, finds out that he is in fact the King of his race. The female’s name
is Jasmine and she is unaware that her life is in danger. She is small with
beautiful auburn hair and auburn coloured eyes and she is the heir’s mate but
doesn’t know her true heritage. She meets Elijah and is shocked to discover
that there is another race that exists. Her life is thrown into turmoil when
she has to escape an attack and slowly falls in love with Elijah. Elijah has to
protect Jasmine, who becomes his mate and fight against a Lord from the past who
is intent on destroying Elijah, Jasmine and every member of The Order.
It sounds so exciting! I’m looking forwards
to read it .
Thank you Abbie for joining me today on Monday’s Tea. I hope you have enjoyed your visit as much as
I have.
